Compendiums and reusable content
Collect reusable campaign material, lock finished packs and import compatible entries.
What a compendium contains
A compendium is a reusable content pack rather than a full installation backup. Campaign packs can contain supported actors, items, journals, scenes and decks. Installed system packages may also provide catalogs. The core's generic item support does not mean the native PDF system includes item types.
Build a campaign pack
As GM, create a compendium with a meaningful name.
Add the supported campaign resources you want to reuse.
Inspect entries and any linked media in a test import.
Choose whether the pack is shared with players.
Lock a finished pack to prevent accidental editing; unlock it before changing its entries.
A portable entry can include its supported dependency graph and linked assets. This does not promise that every third-party module's private state can be transferred. Imported references are mapped into the destination campaign instead of granting access to the original campaign.
Import an entry
Open the appropriate pack and inspect the intended entry. As GM, import it into the current campaign. Check the new document, its images and its permissions before sharing it. A pack associated with another system cannot be imported as though its schema belonged to the current system.
Import creates campaign content. Later editing of that copy is distinct from maintaining the source pack; do not assume it stays synchronized with a publisher's next release.
Troubleshoot and respect content rights
If a player cannot see a pack, inspect shared/access settings. If the GM cannot edit it, check its lock. If import reports a system mismatch, choose the matching campaign/system rather than renaming IDs. Missing media needs investigation of the source entry and import result, not a public alias for private storage.
Only distribute content you own or are authorized to redistribute. A reusable structure, installed package or book purchase does not authorize including proprietary rules catalogs, books or licensed artwork in a public pack. Keep an installation backup as well: compendiums do not preserve all campaign history, accounts or host configuration.
